Use
The Virilization Panel 2 aids in the detection of nonclassical congenital adrenal hyperplasia in individuals presenting with hyperandrogenism. This panel includes several hormone tests that measure levels of testosterone, 17-Hydroxyprogesterone, androstenedione, and dehydroepiandrosterone, which are critical in assessing hormonal imbalances and contributing to the diagnosis of conditions affecting adrenal gland function.

Limitations
The test has been developed and performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories but has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. It is performed in a CLIA certified laboratory. Free or bioavailable testosterone measurements may provide supportive information. However, for individuals on testosterone-suppressing hormone therapies, refer to cisgender female reference intervals.
