Use
This test aids in the evaluation of ascites. Albumin levels in body fluid can help determine the cause of fluid accumulation, as abnormal protein levels may indicate specific pathological conditions requiring medical attention.
Special Instructions
The source of the body fluid must be indicated on the test request form to ensure accurate processing and interpretation.
Limitations
A reference interval has not been established for body fluid specimens. This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Results must be interpreted in the context of clinical presentation and other diagnostic procedures.
