Allergen, Food, Clove IgE
Also known as: CLOVE
Use
This test is intended to quantify the level of specific IgE antibodies to clove in the patient's serum. Allergens such as clove can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. The test helps in identifying patients who may have an IgE-mediated response to clove, which is essential for diagnosing food allergies and guiding dietary modifications and treatment plans.
Special Instructions
Patients should avoid multiple encounters for consistency in results. Please separate serum from cells as soon as possible, or within two hours of collection. Ensure adequate volume for allergen testing. For multiple allergen orders, refer to 'Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions'.
Limitations
Results of allergen-specific IgE levels do not always correlate with the severity of clinical allergy symptoms. Concentrations of IgE may not reflect in vivo responses or skin test results. A negative result does not rule out an allergy or even anaphylaxis. Results from 0.10 to 0.34 kU/L should be interpreted with clinical history, as relevance is undetermined.
