Allergen, Tree, Italian Cypress IgE
Also known as: CYPRESS IT
Use
The Allergen, Tree, Italian Cypress IgE test is used to measure the level of IgE antibodies specific to the Italian Cypress allergen in the patient's serum. This test helps in diagnosing allergic conditions and assessing the risk of allergic reactions in patients who may be sensitive to this particular tree allergen. The quantification of IgE antibodies can assist healthcare providers in determining the potential for clinical allergic reactions and guiding appropriate allergy management or avoidance strategies.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided to ensure accurate results. Refer to 'Allergen Specimen Collection Instructions' for multiple allergen orders. Use an ARUP Standard Transport Tube for specimen transfer.
Limitations
IgE concentrations measured in this test may not directly correlate with the degree of clinical response or skin testing results when challenged with the specific allergen. A negative result does not rule out clinical allergy or the possibility of anaphylaxis. It is essential to correlate laboratory results with clinical history and in vivo reactivity for accurate diagnosis and management.
