Allergens, Inhalants Panel 11 IgE
Also known as: INHALE 11
Use
The Allergens, Inhalants Panel 11 IgE test is used for quantifying allergen-specific IgE antibodies. This test helps in the diagnosis of IgE-mediated allergic disorders. It covers a broad spectrum of common inhalant allergens, providing valuable information for the management of patients with suspected allergic rhinitis, asthma, and other respiratory allergies.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters should be avoided in the collection process, and it is essential that serum be separated from cells as soon as possible or within two hours of collection for optimal results. Care must be taken to avoid hemolyzed, icteric, or lipemic samples, and it is critical to adhere to specific specimen handling instructions outlined by ARUP Laboratories to prevent rejection.
Limitations
The clinical relevance of results between 0.10-0.34 kU/L is undetermined and intended for use by specialists. Positive results at lower concentrations may not correlate with clinical allergy symptoms or responses in skin testing. A negative result does not rule out the possibility of allergy or anaphylaxis. Therefore, laboratory results must be interpreted in conjunction with the patient's clinical history and in vivo reactivity to specific allergens.
