Allergens, Mold Profile
Also known as: MOLD PAN
Use
The Allergens, Mold Profile test is used to quantitatively measure IgE antibodies specific to molds and fungi. This helps determine if there is an allergic reaction associated with mold exposure. The test provides valuable information for allergy specialists to correlate laboratory results with clinical history and in-vivo reactivity to specific allergens.
Special Instructions
Multiple patient encounters and multiple specimen tubes should be avoided. Therefore, it is essential to collect and separate serum as soon as possible from the cells to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results. Please transfer the serum to the ARUP Standard Transport Tube.
Limitations
Even though increasing ranges reflect increasing concentrations of allergen-specific IgE, these concentrations may not always correlate with the degree of clinical response or skin testing results when challenged with a specific allergen. A negative test may not completely rule out clinical allergy or even anaphylaxis. Allergen results in the range of 0.10-0.34 kU/L should be regarded with caution, as clinical relevance is undetermined and might require specialist use.
