CD30 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: CD30 IHC
Use
CD30 by Immunohistochemistry is utilized for the detection of CD30 antigen in tissue samples. It is a valuable diagnostic tool in identifying diseases associated with CD30 expression, such as certain types of lymphomas. The test aids in the differential diagnosis by providing pathologists with necessary information regarding the presence and pattern of CD30 antigen expression across the sampled tissue sections.
Special Instructions
For tissue specimens that have undergone decalcification, refer to the specific test for bone marrow specimens by Immunohistochemistry (3016879). Ensure that formalin fixation and paraffin embedding are correctly done for optimal results. Electronic requests should be submitted for ordering, or an ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form should be used if electronic ordering is not available.
Limitations
The test is performed as a technical service, providing stained slides without interpretation. It requires proper handling of specimens to avoid depletion or damage. Specimens must represent the tissue type under investigation, as nonrepresentative samples could lead to incorrect readings. The performance is limited to the assessment of CD30 expression and does not substitute for comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.
