Use
This test serves as a technical IHC stain to detect CD30 expression in bone marrow tissue or cells, aiding in diagnosis of neoplasms that express CD30. It is performed as a stain-and-return (technical) service without pathologist interpretation included.
Special Instructions
Performed Monday through Friday. This test is performed as a stain-and-return (technical) service only. It is New York State approved.
Limitations
Unacceptable specimens include tissue or cells not processed into a paraffin block, serum, blood, or other body fluids, or tissue not mounted on positively charged slides. Slides that are oven baked or blocks exposed to excessive heat are unacceptable. Frozen specimens are unacceptable.

Collection Instructions
Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed specimen (cells must be prepared into a cellblock). Transport tissue block or 5 unstained (3- to 5‑micron thick sections), positively charged slides in a tissue transport kit (ARUP supply #47808). If sending precut slides, do not oven bake.
Storage Instructions
Protect paraffin block and/or slides from excessive heat.
