CD7 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: CD7 IHC
Use
CD7 immunohistochemical staining is used as a technical (stain and return) service to detect CD7 antigen expression in tissue or cellblock specimens. CD7 is expressed on T cells and natural killer cells, and aberrant loss of CD7 expression may assist in diagnosing T‑cell lymphomas.
Special Instructions
Submit via electronic request or use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) if electronic ordering is unavailable. Transport specimens in ARUP tissue transport kit (supply #47808).
Limitations
Technical service only; no interpretive (pathologist) read is included. Specimens must be formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded or cellblocks; slides must be positively charged. Do not oven bake precut slides. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Unacceptable conditions include depleted or non‑representative tissue.
