Use
This test quantitatively measures the concentration of cyclobenzaprine in urine. Cyclobenzaprine is a muscle relaxant used to relieve muscle spasms resulting from musculoskeletal conditions. The test is used to monitor the levels of cyclobenzaprine in patients who are prescribed this medication, ensuring they are within the therapeutic range and checking for potential abuse or misuse.
Special Instructions
This test is not performed at ARUP; separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Specimens should be collected as random urine samples and transferred to an ARUP standard transport tube. This test requires 1 mL of urine, with a minimum volume of 0.4 mL acceptable.
Limitations
This test has been developed by NMS Labs and its performance characteristics have not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Digital data review may take place remotely, and compliance with CLIA regulations is maintained.
