Drug Profile, Screen With Reflex to Quantitation, Serum or Plasma
Also known as: DRUG SCRSP
Use
This test is used to monitor patient compliance for drug use. It provides qualitative screening through enzyme immunoassay (ELISA) followed by confirmation and quantitation with mass spectrometry technologies like GC-MS and LC-MS/MS for a comprehensive drug profile. The test detects various drug classes and is particularly useful for managing compliance in individuals prescribed or using controlled substances.
Special Instructions
Positive results from immunoassay screenings are automatically reflexed for mass spectrometry confirmation, which may incur additional charges. This test is not designed for forensic purposes and the results should be used for medical purposes only. The test does not distinguish between delta-8 and delta-9 THC metabolites.
Limitations
An immunoassay may yield an unconfirmed positive result which might be useful for medical purposes but does not meet forensic standards. The absence of expected drugs/drug metabolites might indicate noncompliance, improperly timed specimen collection, poor absorption, or the limitations of the test. The sensitivity varies among drug classes, and detection relies on the concentration meeting the positive cutoff criteria.
