Use
This mass spectrometry test is utilized to measure a wide range of estradiol concentrations. It is particularly useful when low estradiol concentrations are expected, regardless of the patient's sex assigned at birth. It is used to monitor estradiol in individuals on estrogen-suppressing hormone therapies, such as aromatase inhibitors or testosterone.
Special Instructions
Indicate age and sex of patient on test request form AND specimen tube.
Limitations
The test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by ARUP Laboratories. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. Therefore, it is intended for clinical purposes only and must be performed in a CLIA certified laboratory.
