IRF8 by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: IRF8 IHC
Use
This immunohistochemical stain for IRF8 serves as a laboratory‑developed test (LDT) primarily used as a stain‑and‑return service; it enables detection of IRF8 expression in tissue specimens, useful in diagnostic contexts where understanding monocytic or dendritic cell lineage differentiation is relevant (e.g., hematopoietic malignancies), though explicit clinical use context is not detailed on this page.
Special Instructions
Ordering recommendation references the ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure. This test is performed as a stain‑and‑return service only. Accessible materials include ARUP supply #47808 tissue transport kit available via eSupply or Client Services.
Limitations
Specimen limitations include submission of nonrepresentative tissue type, depleted specimens, or improperly processed tissue (non‑paraffin‑embedded or not on positively charged slides). Slides must not be oven baked if precut. Frozen specimens are unacceptable for transport; serum, blood, or other body fluids are unacceptable. Slides or blocks must be protected from excessive heat.
