Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency Panel
Also known as: LAD PAN
Use
The Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency Panel is used to aid in the diagnosis of type I and II leukocyte adhesion deficiency. The panel measures receptors CD11a, CD11b, CD15s, and CD18 on neutrophils. Abnormal expression of these receptors may correlate with dysfunctional neutrophil behavior, indicative of leukocyte adhesion deficiencies.
Special Instructions
Ensure specimens are sent to a New York state-approved laboratory due to state regulations and specimen stability constraints. Do not submit samples to ARUP Laboratories if stability requirements cannot be met.
Limitations
Specimens must be analyzed within 72 hours of collection to ensure accuracy. Clotted, hemolyzed, or frozen specimens are unacceptable and would likely result in inaccurate measurements or failure to produce results. Only fresh or refrigerated specimens are stable for testing, impacting remote submissions.
