Occupation Screen - MMR/VZV Antibody Assessment Panel, IgG
Also known as: MMRV PAN
Use
This test is used to provide evidence of vaccination or prior infections by measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella-zoster viruses. Detecting the presence of IgG antibodies against these viruses may indicate current or past exposure or immunization, which is particularly useful in occupational screening contexts.
Special Instructions
The test is New York state approved and should be used for providing evidence of vaccination or prior infections. Serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible, and the stability conditions should be strictly followed to ensure accurate results.
Limitations
Interpretation of the test results should take into account the potential for false negatives and false positives, especially in the case of recent infections or immunizations. Repeat testing may be necessary in some cases where equivocal results are obtained. The presence and magnitude of antibodies measured are not indicative of the amount of protective immunity.
