Thyroid Stimulating Hormone by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: TSH-IHC
Use
Immunohistochemical detection of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) in formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded tissue/cell block specimens as a stain‑and‑return service. Used when tissue localization of TSH expression is required for diagnostic or pathological evaluation.
Special Instructions
This assay is performed as a stain‑and‑return service only. Refer to ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure for ordering recommendations. Laboratory Developed Test (LDT).
Limitations
Cells must be prepared into a cellblock; do not use heat‑exposed paraffin slides. Slides must be positively charged and precut slides must not be oven baked. Fixation in 10% neutral buffered formalin and paraffin embedding are required. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Specificity, sensitivity, or interpretive limitations beyond those implied by IHC methodology are not stated.
