ANCA Profile (RDL)
Also known as: ANCA Profile, Anti-Neutrophil Cytoplasmic Panel
Use
C-ANCA & P-ANCA resulted if positive, otherwise reported as ANCA Negative. PANCA confirmed on formalin fixed slides. ANA performed if ANCA positive to rule out false positive ANCA due to presence of ANA.
Special Instructions
c-ANCA and p-ANCA results are reported if positive, otherwise reported as ANCA Negative. p-ANCA is confirmed on formalin-fixed slides. Anti-Nuclear Antibody (ANA) by IFA is performed if ANCA is positive to rule out false positive ANCA due to the presence of ANA.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. However, it has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, which implies that while it is clinically valid, FDA clearance or approval is not in place. Additionally, false positives can occur due to the presence of ANA, and the test's comprehensive application in specific populations may be limited by this factor.
