Use
U2 snRNP autoantibodies, known as a type of myositis-associated autoantibodies (MSAs) are frequently, but not exclusively, in patients with myositis. MSAs include autoantibodies to U1-RNP, U2-RNP, PM/SCL and Ku.
Special Instructions
Separate serum from cells within one hour of collection and transfer to a plastic transport tube before shipping. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Limitations
This test was designed and its performance characteristics determined by LabCorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, which may affect its validity and acceptance in certain clinical settings. Additionally, the test may have limitations in specificity and sensitivity, which should be considered when interpreting results.
