This test is used to determine the susceptibility of yeast isolates to antifungal agents.
Special Instructions
Patients should consult with their healthcare provider prior to sample collection to ensure proper handling and shipment of specimens.
Limitations
This test is limited to the detection of susceptibility of fungal species to flucytosine. Resistance mechanisms outside the scope of this test may affect therapeutic outcomes. This test cannot determine susceptibility to fungal species not included in the testing panel or for which breakpoints have not been established.
