Chlorpromazine
Also known as: Thorazine®
Use
Therapeutic drug management
Special Instructions
Specimens should be collected in red-top (no additive) tubes or green-top (heparin) tubes. Gel-barrier tubes are not recommended. Separated serum or plasma must be transferred to a plastic transport tube. For storage exceeding three days, specimens must be refrigerated or frozen to ensure stability.
Limitations
The test was developed and its performance characteristics were determined by Labcorp, and it has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Therapeutic ranges may not parallel clinical responses due to inter-individual variations in drug disposition, potentially leading to higher levels of unmeasured active metabolites.
