Clonazepam
Also known as: Klonopin®
Use
Evaluate toxicity; monitor therapeutic levels
Special Instructions
Co-administration of Lorazepam can potentially cause a falsely lower Clonazepam result when using this method. Transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube. Do not use a gel-barrier tube due to potential absorption issues.
Limitations
This test was developed and performance characteristics were determined by Labcorp, but it has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The therapeutic effect is not well correlated with serum levels, and the absorption of the drug by gel in gel-barrier tubes can be clinically significant.
