Special Instructions
This test requires the collection of either serum or plasma specimens. It is essential to transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube after collection. Gel-barrier tubes are not recommended for this test. Specimens should be submitted and transported at room temperature if transported within three days; otherwise, refrigeration or freezing is recommended for longer storage periods.
Limitations
The test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp. It has not been cleared or approved by the Food and Drug Administration, which may influence the interpretation and application of results. The test results should be correlated clinically with the patient's condition and other diagnostic information.
