Special Instructions
The specimen should be collected using transport swabs provided. The sample must contact the lower one-third of the vaginal wall to ensure sufficient material is obtained for the culture.
Limitations
This test specifically detects yeast in vaginal fluid and may not identify other microorganisms that could be causing symptoms. Additionally, if the specimen is not collected or transported as described, the sample may be rejected, potentially delaying diagnosis or treatment.
