Hemoglobinopathy Fractionation Cascade
Use
Diagnose thalassemias and hemoglobin variants
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
The test may require repeated or additional confirmatory testing if initial screening shows abnormal results. Any abnormal findings from capillary electrophoresis necessitate further investigation through reflexive testing methods like HPLC and hemoglobin solubility tests, which may extend the turnaround time. Additionally, the test cannot be applied to hemolyzed samples, or samples that have been improperly stored for prolonged periods.
