Use
HLA antigens may be correlated with certain disease states or other clinical conditions. Indicate in clinical information which antigen(s) is of interest. Also used for screening of transplant candidates and potential donors, transfusion of specifically compatible blood products, among others.

For assistance in selecting the appropriate HLA test for the patient, please contact HLA customer service at 800-533-1037. When utilizing buccal swabs for specimen collection, ensure the use of a buccal swab kit provided by LabCorp. Instructions for obtaining the kit are available by calling the provided number.
Limitations
This test was developed and validated by Labcorp and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. While Next Generation Sequencing is the primary methodology, Sanger sequence-based typing (SBT) may be utilized to resolve ambiguities as needed. Complete resolution of ambiguities may not always be achieved; those remaining will be reported as allele codes. Specimens unsuitable due to hemolysis or incorrect collection methods may be rejected.
