HLA Class II Antibody Identification
Use
Solid organ transplantation
Special Instructions
It is advised to collect the specimen prior to dialysis. Do not collect if the patient has recently received antithymocyte globulin, OKT3, or alemtuzumab (Campath®), as these drugs may lead to false-positive results. Separate frozen specimens should be submitted for each test requested to avoid delays in turnaround time.
Limitations
The test is capable of detecting antibodies of the IgG isotype but does not detect IgM antibodies, which are often indicative of autoantibodies. False positives may occur if the patient has received certain drugs.
