Limitations

This procedure is to be used for patients with documented HIV-1 infection and viral loads of at least 1000 copies/mL. The test is not suitable for patients with Dual/Mixed or CXCR4-tropic HIV-1. Additionally, this test has not been cleared or approved by the FDA and its performance characteristics were determined by Labcorp. The results should not be used as the sole criteria for patient management.

Collection Instructions

Collect specimen in two lavender-top (EDTA) tubes or two PPT™ tubes. Do not use green-top (heparin) tubes. Centrifuge specimen within six hours of collection. Transfer plasma to one or more polypropylene screw-capped tubes, and freeze. Ship specimen frozen.
