Influenza A, Influenza B and Respiratory Syncytial Virus, NAA
Use
Detection of Influenza A, Influenza B, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) to assist in the diagnosis of viral respiratory infections.
Special Instructions
Labcorp does not collect specimens for this test. Specimens should be collected at the healthcare facility where the patient is seen and sent to Labcorp using standard procedures. The test results are typically reported electronically, allowing for faster delivery. Turnaround time can vary based on demand and transport duration.
Limitations
This test was developed by Labcorp and has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. Factors such as viral genetic variability or interference by substances inhibitory to PCR can affect the test's performance. In certain cases, additional confirmatory testing may be required.
