Mint
Use
Quantitative allergen‑specific IgE testing to detect IgE antibodies specific to mint allergen (e.g., peppermint and spearmint). Useful in evaluation of suspected mint allergy, including contact reactions and ingestion-related symptoms; results should be interpreted in context of clinical and laboratory findings.
Special Instructions
This test was developed and performance characteristics determined by LabCorp; not cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration, which has deemed such clearance unnecessary. High total IgE levels (>3000 IU/mL) may cause nonspecific binding; retesting may be warranted once underlying conditions are resolved.
Limitations
High levels of total IgE (>3000 IU/mL, e.g., due to parasitic infestations or other conditions) may result in nonspecific binding. Quantitative allergen‑specific IgE results must be interpreted alongside clinical and other laboratory findings.
