Seminal Fluid
Use
The Seminal Fluid test measures the level of specific IgE antibodies in serum to detect potential allergic reactions. IgE (Immunoglobulin E) responses are involved in allergic reactions and this test helps identify allergies related to specific allergens present in seminal fluid.
Special Instructions
Ensure the specimen is collected in either an 8.5 mL red-top tube or an 8.5 mL gel-barrier tube. Follow the stability requirements to preserve the integrity of the specimen.
Limitations
The test is intended for clinical use only, detecting specific IgE levels related to seminal fluid allergens. Results should be interpreted within the clinical context and history of the individual. The test performance characteristics have not been cleared by the FDA, as such clearance or approval is not necessary due to its designation for clinical purposes.
