Toxoplasma gondii Antibodies, IgG with reflex to IgG Avidity
Use
The intended use of this test is to determine the presence of Toxoplasma gondii IgG antibody and its avidity.
Special Instructions
If the Toxoplasma IgG antibody levels are greater than 8.7 IU/mL, the test will reflex to IgG Avidity testing at an additional charge.
Limitations
The test results can yield false-positive or false-equivocal avidity values if the Toxoplasma antibody is not detected. This means that IgG Avidity testing should only be performed when the Toxoplasma IgG antibody is already known to be positive. The test's performance characteristics were determined by Labcorp and have not been cleared or approved by the FDA, which may affect its regulatory standing.
