Almond Food IgG
Use
The Almond Food IgG test is designed to detect the presence of IgG antibodies to almonds in the patient's serum. These antibodies are measured to assess potential sensitization to almond proteins. Elevated levels may indicate a response to dietary intake of almonds, which could be associated with certain food sensitivities or intolerances.
Special Instructions
The results of this test should be interpreted in the context of the patient’s clinical history and symptoms. It is essential to ensure proper specimen collection and handling to maintain sample integrity.
Limitations
This test is not cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It has been developed and its performance characteristics determined by Eurofins Viracor. The absence of IgG antibodies to almonds does not rule out the presence of a food allergy, as IgE antibodies are not measured by this test. Additionally, reference ranges have not been established for food-specific IgG tests. Results should not be used as the sole basis for diagnosis or treatment.
