Anti-Collagen type VII, IgG Antibodies, Serum
Use
This test is used as an initial screening tool in the diagnosis of epidermolysis bullosa acquisita and other immunobullous diseases mediated by collagen VII. The presence of IgG antibodies against collagen type VII can help identify these conditions, which are characterized by blisters and erosions that may heal with scarring.
Special Instructions
The results obtained with the collagen type VII ELISA kit serve as an aid to diagnosis and should be interpreted in the clinical context of the patient. The assay's performance on matrices besides serum has not been established.
Limitations
The assay should be used in conjunction with other diagnostic procedures and interpreted within the clinical context of the patient. Performance characteristics have not been established for specimens other than serum.
