Anti-Th/To Ab
Use
Anti-Th/To antibodies are associated with systemic sclerosis and are used as markers in the diagnosis of the disease. The presence of these antibodies might indicate an autoimmune disorder and can provide insights into the patient's condition. This test aids in the clinical assessment of patients with suspected systemic sclerosis.
Special Instructions
Specimens should be sent refrigerated within the appropriate timeframe to preserve integrity. Ensure that you centrifuge and aliquot the serum into the designated plastic vial promptly after collection.
Limitations
The test performance has not been evaluated in patients with other autoimmune diseases, and cross-reactivity with antibodies present in other autoimmune conditions is possible. It has limited utility in monitoring disease activity and may not detect all cases of systemic sclerosis, as antibody levels do not always correlate with disease severity or progression.
