Bupivacaine (Marcaine)
Use
The Bupivacaine (Marcaine) test is used to measure the levels of bupivacaine in serum. Bupivacaine is a local anesthetic used for nerve blocking and pain relief during surgical procedures. Monitoring levels of bupivacaine can help ensure effective anesthesia while avoiding toxic levels that could cause adverse effects such as cardiovascular and central nervous system toxicity.
