Controlled Substance Monitoring Targeted Profile, 17 Drug Classes, Mass Spectrometry, Random, Urine
Use
This test is useful for detecting drug use involving stimulants, benzodiazepines, and opioids. It is ideally used for compliance monitoring in clinical settings to ensure proper medication adherence. This test is not intended for use in employment-related testing, making it more suitable for therapeutic drug monitoring. Drug classes detected include opioids, stimulants, and benzodiazepines, which are important for managing pain, psychiatric conditions, or substance use disorders.
Special Instructions
Testing begins with an adulterant survey; if adulterated, further testing does not proceed. If the specimen is normal or only diluted, the test continues with targeted screens for opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulants. This protocol ensures accurate results by pre-screening for specimen tampering.
Limitations
This test is not designed for employment-related drug screening. The reliability of test results can be affected by adulteration or tampering, although there is a preliminary adulterant survey to mitigate this risk. Certain substances may not be quantifiable if present in concentrations below the testing sensitivity threshold or if the drug has not sufficiently metabolized in the body prior to sample collection. The test suite does not cover all possible substances of abuse due to its focused nature on select drug classes.
