Drug Abuse Survey with Confirmation, Panel 9, Random, Urine
Use
This test is useful for detecting drug abuse involving amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, ethanol, methadone, opiates, phencyclidine, and tetrahydrocannabinol. It is intended to be used in a setting where results can definitively diagnose drug abuse. It is not for use in employment-related testing.
Special Instructions
The initial testing involves screening for alcohol and drugs of abuse. Positives are confirmed and quantitated by definitive methods at an additional charge. Reflex tests include confirmation for specific drugs like opiates, amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, phencyclidine, and tetrahydrocannabinol.
Limitations
This test is not intended for employment-related drug screening. False positives or negatives could occur based on metabolic variations or drug interactions. Confirmatory testing includes gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, which may result in additional charges for positive confirmations.
