Fentanyl with Metabolite Confirmation, Chain of Custody, Random, Urine
Use
This test is useful for the detection and confirmation of illicit drug use involving fentanyl. Chain of custody is necessary to ensure that the specimen results can be used in a court of law, maintaining the rights of the individual by demonstrating sample control at all times to limit the opportunity for tampering.
Special Instructions
This test is appropriate for situations that require the chain-of-custody process. For similar tests not requiring chain of custody, the FENTU test should be ordered. The chain of custody kit includes necessary containers, seals, and documentation.
Limitations
The urine concentrations may not correlate well with serum levels, thus serum levels are recommended for therapeutic drug management. High concentrations of certain fentanyl analogs can interfere with the test, causing false positives. The test does not confirm the presence of other substances or confirm their absence beyond the specified cutoff thresholds.
