GATA Binding Protein 3 Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
GATA-binding protein 3 (GATA3) is a transcription factor involved in the regulation of the development and differentiation of various human tissues, including T cells, skin, kidney, mammary gland, and the central nervous system. It is valuable in the characterization of carcinomas, such as primary bladder and breast carcinomas, and certain mesenchymal and neuroectodermal tumors.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical performance of the stain without pathologist interpretation. It should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation. If ordered with PATHC, the technical component stains will be canceled. The test requires the attachment of the green 'Attention Pathology' and pink 'Immunostain Technical Only' labels on the transport container.
Limitations
Age of a cut paraffin section can affect immunoreactivity. Stability thresholds vary widely among published literature and are antigen dependent. Additionally, the charge of glass slides can be affected by environmental factors, potentially altering slide staining. Improper storage of slides or unsuitable glass slides may result in inconsistent staining.
