IgG4 Food Panel I
Use
The IgG4 Food Panel I test evaluates the presence of food-specific IgG4 antibodies associated with various food-related immune responses. While the clinical utility of food-specific IgG4 tests is not clearly established, they can be used in special clinical situations to aid in selecting foods for elimination diets or pre-evaluation in patients experiencing food-related complaints. The test may assist in managing dietary changes for such patients.
Special Instructions
This test's reference ranges have not been established, as its clinical utility is unclear. It is recommended for use only in specific clinical situations to understand food-related immune responses better. Tests are conducted on specific days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Limitations
The IgG4 Food Panel I test has limitations due to the lack of established reference ranges and its uncertain clinical significance. It should only be used in particular clinical contexts, as it has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. The detection of food-specific IgG4 does not correlate directly with food allergies or intolerances. Cross-reactivity or false positives may occur, and results should be interpreted with caution.
