Immunoglobulin G (IgG) Subtypes Immunofluorescence, Tissue
Use
IgG subtypes are helpful in confirming some disease processes affecting the kidney by determining the subclass of IgG antibody found in the renal immunofluorescent panel and whether the deposits are monoclonal or monotypic. Useful in evaluating renal immunopathology and guiding interpretation in renal biopsies.
Special Instructions
If additional interpretation or analysis is needed, request PATHC / Pathology Consultation and send corresponding renal pathology light microscopy and immunofluorescence slides (or IF images), electron microscopy images, and the pathology report.
Limitations
No significant cautionary statements were noted. Interpretive grading of staining intensity is provided but may require pathology consultation for full interpretation.
