Special Instructions
Patient Preparation: High concentrations of gadolinium and iodine may interfere; if gadolinium‑ or iodine‑containing contrast media has been administered, delay collection for 96 hours.
Limitations
Normal specimens have extremely low levels of manganese; elevated results may be due to external contamination. Metal‑free urine collection procedures must be followed.
