Peanut IgG
Use
This test measures immunologic sensitization to peanut allergen via detection of peanut-specific IgG. It may be used in select clinical situations to guide elimination and challenge diets in patients with suspected food-related complaints, but it does not establish food allergy; presence of IgG indicates immunologic sensitization and must be interpreted in the clinical context.
Special Instructions
Ordering physicians should understand the limitations of food-specific IgG tests. This assay was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Eurofins Viracor, and is not FDA-cleared or approved.
Limitations
Interpretation is limited: food-specific IgG alone cannot be taken as evidence of food allergy. Reference ranges have not been established for food‑specific IgG. Utility is limited to selection of foods for evaluation via elimination and challenge protocols.
