Phosphorylated TDP43 Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
Identification of pathological forms of TDP-43 in neurodegenerative diseases. TDP-43 has functions in transcriptional repression, translational regulation, and pre-mRNA splicing. In normal cells, it is nuclear, while in affected cells, it is phosphorylated and found in inclusions and neurites, characteristic of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and frontotemporal lobar degeneration.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical performance of the stain without pathologist interpretation. If ordered with PATHC, the stains will be canceled, as they should not be ordered together. Attach the 'Attention Pathology' and 'Immunostain Technical Only' labels to the transport container.
Limitations
This test does not include pathologist interpretation, only technical performance of the stain. The age of paraffin sections can affect immunoreactivity, with stability thresholds being variable. Unsuitable glass slides can result in inconsistent staining. Best practices include minimizing slide storage after unpackaging and limiting exposure to high humidity and heat.
