Radish (Raphanus sativus) IgE
Use
The Radish (Raphanus sativus) IgE test measures specific IgE antibodies in the blood to determine if a person has an allergic response to radish. Elevated IgE levels can be indicative of an allergic sensitization to radish, which may cause symptoms such as hives, itching, swelling, respiratory distress, or anaphylaxis upon exposure.
Special Instructions
The test requires a blood draw, followed by serum separation via centrifugation. The serum should be sent in a plastic vial, maintained refrigerated conditions during transport.
Limitations
The Radish IgE test only indicates the presence of specific IgE antibodies to radish. It does not indicate the severity of an allergic reaction, nor does it identify other potential allergens. Cross-reactivity with other related allergens may occur.
