T-Cell Receptor Beta (TCR Beta F1) Immunostain, Technical Component Only
Use
T-cell receptor beta (TCR Beta F1) antibody is directed against the beta chain of the alpha/beta T-cell receptor, thus staining the majority of T lymphocytes. Staining is localized at cell membranes with weak cytoplasmic staining in some cells. Positive staining in malignant lymphomas can confirm T-cell lineage and further subtype as alpha/beta T cells. This assay is useful for the classification of lymphomas.
Special Instructions
This test includes only the technical performance of the stain. No pathologist interpretation is provided. If pathologist interpretation is required, order the PATHC / Pathology Consultation for a complete evaluation. The technical component stains should not be ordered with PATHC / Pathology Consultation as they will be canceled if ordered together. For digital image access, place the order for IHC stains electronically.
Limitations
Age of the cut paraffin section can affect immunoreactivity. Stability thresholds vary significantly among published literature and are antigen dependent. Best practices recommend cutting paraffin sections within 6 weeks of being used. The charge of glass slides can be affected by environmental factors, which may alter slide staining, potentially leading to inconsistent results. Improper slide surface chemistry due to unsuitable glass slides can result in poor staining.
