Zinc/Creatinine Ratio, Random, Urine
Use
Measurement of urinary zinc normalized to creatinine to help identify cause of abnormal serum zinc concentrations, using a random urine specimen.
Special Instructions
High concentrations of barium may interfere; specimen should not be collected for at least 96 hours after barium‐containing contrast media. Order as profile including both ZNCU and CRETR.
Limitations
Interference by high barium levels; uses unpublished Mayo ICP‑MS/MS method for zinc, enzymatic colorimetric assay for creatinine.
