BCL6, technical only
Use
BCL6 is a proto-oncogene mainly expressed in germinal center B-cells. In several subtypes of non-Hodgkin lymphomas (NHL), a translocation occurs which juxtaposes the BCL6 gene at 3q27 resulting in BCL6 overexpression, which can be detected via IHC. Technical component only. Pathologist read not included.
Special Instructions
Specimens may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer term storage if needed. This is NOT preferred. Samples must be tested 3 months after placing in ethanol. Positively charged glass slides required to prevent background staining and prevent tissue loss. Slides should be left unbaked.
Limitations
This test is technical only and does not include a pathologist's interpretation. All specimens must be fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin or B plus after collection. Other fixatives will lead to specimen rejection.
