BCR/ABL1 qRT PCR, major and minor
Use
Combined quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and reporting of the major and minor BCR::ABL fusion gene transcripts p210 (e13/e14a2) and p190 (e1a2) in patients with a Philadelphia (t(9;22)(q34;q11.2)) positive leukemia.
Special Instructions
Frozen blood samples are NOT accepted. Please notify MPLN if shipment is to arrive after 1 p.m. Friday or Saturday.
Limitations
Specimen must be received by MPLN within 48 hours of collection. Specimen stability at 2-8°C; refrigerated shipping with ice pack is recommended. Specimens >48 hours old, clotted, stored or shipped at incorrect temperatures, or in incorrect anticoagulant, or of insufficient volume may be rejected; isolated RNA of suboptimal quality/quantity is also a criterion for rejection.
