DOG-1, technical only
Use
DOG-1 was originally discovered in gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) where it's predominantly on the plasma membrane. Because DOG-1 is rarely found in other soft tissue tumors, this marker is useful in the identification of GISTs, including platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha mutants that fail to express KIT antigen.
Special Instructions
Technical component only. Pathologist read not included. Fresh Tissues: Specimens may be fixed in formalin for 24-72 hours by collection sites, then transferred to 70% ethanol and stored at 2-8°C for longer term storage if needed. Slides should be left unbaked.
Limitations
The test is technical only, and the pathologist's interpretation or read is not included. Specimens not fixed in 10% NBF or B plus will be rejected. Final TATs will be specified in the biopharma study contract, so stated TATs are for clinical use and may change.
